Wednesday, October 5, 2016 was a historic day for Copper Valley Electric as the Cooperative, joined by Governor Bill Walker, Senator John Coghill, Mayor Ruthie Knight, past and present Board members, and several key project contributors, celebrated the completion of the Allison Creek Hydroelectric Project. Construction is finished, commissioning completed, and on Wednesday, around roughly 1:45 pm, CVEA President Paul Kildal flipped the switch to begin generating the first kWh of commercial power from the project! Congratulations to all CVEA employees and members; you are the proud owners of a new hydroelectric project that will lessen our dependence on fossil fuel and benefit our communities for generations to come!
